HOW THIS WORKS
Community Supported Veggie Baskets is a partnership between a community (that’s you) and a farmer (that’s us). FARMCITY pledges to grow food for the community, and the community pledges to support the farm. We aim to provide a weekly basket of mixed vegetables, cultivated organically and freshly harvested on the day of collection. We will also bring it to a collection point near you for your added convenience!
What's Growing On
Each Veggie Basket is sold at a fixed price of Rs 350 per basket. We aim to provide a diverse and bountiful share of approximately 4-8 items per basket. However, due to the variability of farming (as in life!), we are unable to guarantee that you'll get any specific items or number of items during the course of the season.
Each week, your Veggie Basket will be a medley of what's available for harvest, including:
Leafy Greens/Brede (e.g tom pouce, petsai, chinese kale/kai lan, kohlrabi greens, brocolli leaves, beet leaves, rocket, lettuce, rainbow chard)
Root Crops (e.g radish, beetroot, sweet potatoes, carrots)
Other crops (e.g eggplant, okra/lalo, turnip, angive, leeks)
Culinary Herbs (e.g basil, spring onions, rosemary, thyme, cilantro)
*Kindly note we aren't able to offer substitutions for the vegetables in your basket at this point. Please consider sharing any unwanted items with a neighbour or friend.

An Important Note: Shared Risks
As partners, both the community and the farmer share the risks and rewards of farming. Rewards include delicious, fresh, nutritious vegetables and a direct link with your farmers and your food system. However, there are no guarantees in farming (as in life), as we are continually at the mercy of the weather and other calamities beyond our control. This means that if a plague of aphids destroys all the cabbage, everyone is disappointed together, and together we all root for the other vegetables. Understanding this is a vital part of partaking in any community supported program. In return, we commit to do our best to provide the community with an abundant basket of delicious, nutritionally dense, produce each week.
