Background of Mikoko Tours & Safaris
Mikoko Tours & Safaris had founded by Olais K. Rapahel in 2015 the idea by few youths who are members of Jane Goodall's Roots & Shoots Program and latter Few Scouts join in then the idea got shared between Scouts & Roots & Shoots members. Then after the training provided by Mweva the project got strong foundation through digital marketing strategies. This is a project from the work of Mweva and Mikoko Scouts Group, it got strong movement after the training from Mweva that was conducted at Tanzania Scouts Headquarters to teach Scouts in the use of digital tools to promote and market local tourism.
The project aims to create jobs, promote local tourism and the proceeds from the project are to be used by Rover Scouts to teach ICT skills to the marginalized communities.
Conservation
Conservation is a core and very sensitive issue for Mikoko Tours & Safaris (MTS) when promoting community and exposing those communities to nature with the aim of making and creating committed ambassadors helping to create a better world.
Eco-tourism/Leisure
Mikoko Tours & Safaris extends conservation efforts through promoting eco-tourism to help environmental conservation and empower communities around the conservation areas in Tanzania through funding scout groups.
Capacity Building
Mikoko Tours & Safaris has developed its member’s skills in scientific research by introducing them to nature and sending them on observations or to carry out small scale studies that are fun and encourage networking and a sense of achievement.
Technology
MTS develops participant’s knowledge and skills towards using technology resources during field studies that will help them observe, record, collect, analyze and interpret nature data into statistical presentations.

MTS help participants in the field by providing them with correct information about nature and conservation that will help them share information with others and develop their network into a Global voice for nature in Scouting.
Data Record
MTS develops participants to a high level of understanding on how to record the number of species observed in the field and its importance towards supporting nature conservation strategies, decision and policy making.
Position description
The Intern Admin Assistant will support the implementation of all Administration processes, implementing appropriate controls and best practices. S/he will also have hands on program and admin role with a variety of administrative functions.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and improve administration processes and controls throughout the organization.
- Manage company petty cash, book-keeping tasks as per policies.
- Administer incoming Invoices, accounts payable, provide aging accounts, pay invoice on agreed terms in collaboration with Mikoko Accountant.
- Purchasing of office items and make sure everything required in the office are in place.
- Ensure all statutory compliance, verses preparations & submission of VAT, W/T, NSSF & PPF return in time, and ensure payments are made before due date.
- Plan and monitor organizational and program cash flow needs in collaboration with Mikoko Accountant.
- Manage all administration tasks, office-opening and closing, staff visa requirements, and all office errands.
- Create and maintain fixed-asset registrar
- Get all our invoices scanned and administered in the right formats for grants and funds purposes in collaboration with Mikoko Accountant.
- Maintain the HR files or the employees (creating, filling, updating).
- Assisting for coordinating performance based appraisals and all statutory HR compliance.

- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, start up environment
- An official member of Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots or Scout with reference letter from JGR&S National Program Coordinator or Tanzania Scout Association National Executive Commissioner.
- Empathy and high commitment to Mikoko’s mission and organizational values
Qualifications:
- Hold a Diploma/Degree major in Record Management, Public Administration, Finance and Accounts, Human Resource or Law.
- Skilled in project management and fundraising will be added advantage
Experience and skills
- 1 year experience in a administrative assistant or legal officer role
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including team work and individual excellence
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills in both English and Swahili (preferred)
- Strong computer literacy and presentation skills
