Classes:
- The programme involves one class per week, held during school terms.
- The classes are held by a trained instructor of the e2 Young Engineers.
- Young Engineers reserves their rights to refuse a student access to a class, or remove the student from the class in the event that their conduct is of such disruptive and/or intolerable nature that it renders the continuation of the class impossible, and/or disrupts other students. This class will then be forfeited.
- Parents are requested to refrain from assisting and/or participating in the classes. We would like that all students complete and challenge themselves with each model.
- Young Engineers will hold special event days where parents and/or guardians are invited to attend the class with their child and partake in the building.
- All parents / guardians / Au Pairs are requested to wait outside the class until the session is complete.
Payment Terms and Conditions:
- It is the responsibility of the parent/ guardian to inform Young Engineers upon registration should their children be eligible for the sibling discount.
- No discounts will be applied retrospectively in respect of the sibling discount.
- The sibling discount will only be applicable where siblings are enrolled for the programme during the same term.
- Interest of prime + 2% per month will be charged on all overdue accounts.
- No credit, refund or catch-up class will be provided in the event that a student misses a class. Further, no credit, refund or catch-up class will be provided in the event that the class falls on a school holiday or public holiday. Any classes missed will be forfeited.
Overdue accounts:
- Any accounts overdue for in excess of sixty (60) days will be handed over by Young Engineers to their Attorneys for collection.
- The parent / legal guardian will be liable for legal costs as between attorney and client (Attorney and client scale of costs) incurred by Young Engineers in respect of any legal steps taken for the recovery of any outstanding fees.
- The parties consent in terms of Section 45 of the Magistrates’ Court Act, 32 of 1944 (or any similar section of an act replacing such act) to the Jurisdiction of the Magistrates Court for the purpose of any proceedings in terms of or incidental to this agreement, notwithstanding that the amount claimed or the value of the matter in dispute may exceed such jurisdiction.
Notice of Cancellation:
- Parents/guardians are required to provide Young Engineers with one (1) calender month written notice of cancellation should they no longer wish for their child to attend the Young Engineers classes.
- In the event that the parent / guardian does not furnish Young Engineers with at least one (1) calender month of written notice of cancellation, they will be liable for fees for the full month, regardless of whether the child attends the classes for that month.
Photographs and digital images:
- Parent’s/ guardians grant full consent to Young Engineers and/or their agents to have photographs and videos taken of their child/children for marketing and social media purposes.
- These photographs / digital images will be used on social media websites, in printed publications or materials, in electronic publications and on the company website.
- Young Engineers undertakes not to publish any names or personal information relating to the children on any social media website, or in any printed or electronic publication without prior written consent of the parent / guardian.
- Parents /guardians will not be entitled to any compensation for photographs taken of their children.
Exclusion of liability:
- Young Engineers Limited, their employees, directors, agents, affiliates, parent companies and subsidiaries are not liable to the parent/guardian and/or their child/children for personal injury or death suffered by the parent / guardian and/or child/ children because the educational and recreational activities were not supplied with due care and skill or were not reasonably fit for their purpose or because of negligence, breach of contract, statute or statutory duty by Young Engineers Limited.
- The parent/guardian understands that the educational and recreational activities offered by Young Engineers may be dangerous with many inherent risks and hazards (including inter alia small Lego and/or building parts that may constitute a choking hazard), and as a consequence personal injury and sometimes death can occur and the parent/guardian assumes and accepts all such risks on behalf of their child/children and hereby waives the right to sue Young Engineers for any personal injury and death suffered by them and/or their child / children in any way whatsoever caused by or relating to the parent/guardian and/or their child/children and/or other participants and/or the participants’ participation in such activities.
- The parent/guardian agrees to pay the cost of and authorize Young Engineers to take all steps it considers reasonably necessary to protect the welfare of the child in the event of personal injury, including the administration of any emergency medical treatment and ambulance transportation.
