Welcome to Community Police Forum: Lyttelton Sector 1
We are a geographical area of responsibility within the Lyttelton CPF.
Who are we?
All residents, business and employees in Zwartkop may become members of CPF LS1.
What do we do?
1. We act as the eyes and ears for Lyttelton Police Station in our area. Providing quality information to SAPS, to enable them to combat crime more effectively.
2. Working closely with SAPS, our volunteer patrollers assist in crime prevention patrols & operations to make our sector a safer area for all.
3. Our volunteer Joc attendants operate a 24/7 Emergency service answering your call on radio and phone: 0861 571 911, contacting the necessary services you may need.
4. Our Executive committee liaises with our parent body CPF Lyttelton, SAPS, TMPD, Private Security and other role players, to make the area where you stay, safer for all.
5. We have an Integrated Safety & Security plan, Standard Operating Procedures and we provide training.
6. We arrange events for you to attend, like self defence, securing your home, community meetings etc.
7. Our Domestic Workers Forum, aims to bring crime prevention to the domestic worker and gardener, to provide them with skills and knowledge in crime prevention.
8. As a community forum, we stand together to assist one another in the “Know Your Neighbour” campaign.
9. We also have projects like our LPR Camera system.
10. We manage street Whatsapp groups, to make the community aware of crime tendencies, provide information enabling the community to protect themselves and be vigilant for their neighbours.
How do we do it?
Contributing members in our area make use of 2-way radios for fast accurate communication to transmit to the Joint Operations Centre (JOC), who will coordinate the necessary services.
SAPS, Private Security Companies & Emergency Services are also in radio communication and work closely with CPF Lyttelton Sector 1.
We use Whatsapp, email, Facebook (Lyttelton Sector 1 CPSF) and we also have a Zello channel.
Members of the community assist with voluntary JOC and Patrols after receiving the necessary training.
