  • Please take note of the following before completing the application form below.

    • All information supplied will be considered to be true and accurate. If any of the supplied information is found to be false, the inclusion of such information will be considered as fraudulent and the necessary action will be taken. By submitting this document, you agree that all the information supplied is accruate and true and that you are an upstanding, ethical and fit person.
    • This application will not be processed without all the required information and/or documentation. As such you will not be able to submit this application unless you have provided all the necessary information. Further to this, you will not be able to submit this application unless you meet the requirements for the training course that you are applying for.
    • If you cancel your application for the course for which you are applying less than 30 days prior to the commencement of said training course, you will be liable to pay a penalty fee of up to R 2 000.00 to cover the costs of organising the course.
  • You must agree to the terms and conditions above in order to apply for any of the NSPCA training courses.

  • You are applying for the Inspector's Training Course or the Refresher's Training Course. The course will run over 12 consecutive days (two weeks). If you are applying as a Trainee Inspector, you will be required to pass the entrance examination once your application form has been received and processed. To request information regarding the entrance examination, please direct a request in writing to training1@nspca.co.za.

    Before you begin completing this form, please ensure that you have the following documentation to upload and attach to your submission:

    • A letter of recommendation from your committee chairperson.
    • A copy of your unendorsed drivers licence.
    • A copy of your identity document (ID).
    • A copy of your matric certificate (Inspector's training course only).
    • A one-page CV.
    • A copy of your Animal Welfare Assistant certification (AWA), if obtained.
    • A copy of your Red Meat Abattoir Association certification (RMAA), if obtained.
    • A police clearance certificate. Please note that the clearance certificate must be obtained through the South African Police Service's Criminal Record Centre in Pretoria (Please see the image below for an example).

  • You are applying for the Committee Training Course. The course will be run over two consecutive days (one weekend).

    Before you begin to complete this form, please take note of the following:

    • The financial costs associated with attending the committee training course remain the responsibility of the society whose delegate is being sent to attend the course. If you, your society or your chairperson have any queries in this regard, please make contact with the NSPCA Society Liaison Unit (liaison2@nspca.co.za).
    • Once a delegate has been confirmed to attend the course, should the delegate cancel or fail to attend the course in full, the society whose delegate is being sent to attend the course will be liable for all financial costs associated with said cancellation/failure to attend.
  • You are applying for the Field Officer Training Course. This course will be run over a period of five consecutive days (one week). Please note that you will be required to complete and submit the Field Officer Entrance Evaluation (a timed evaluation to assess your current knowledge) once your application form has been received and processed.

    Before you begin completing this form, please ensure that you have the following documentation to upload and attach to your submission:

    • A letter of recommendation from your committee chairperson.
    • A copy of your unendorsed drivers licence.
    • A copy of your identity document (ID).
    • A one-page CV.
    • A copy of your Animal Welfare Assistant certification (AWA), if obtained.

  • You are applying for the Senior Inspector's Training Course. This course will be run over a period of 12 consecutive days (two weeks).

    Before you begin completing this form, please ensure that you have the following documentation to upload and attach to your submission:

    • A complete record of all court cases that you have been involved with, regardless of whether the prosecution was successful or not. This should be a single file in either an MS Word (*.doc, *.docx) or PDF (*.pdf) format. If you are unable to provide a court case record in this format, please direct a written enquiry to training1@nspca.co.za. The court case record should include the following:
           - Number of cases prosecuted
           - Magisterial areas where cases were prosecuted
           - Overview of cases (provide a brief summary)
           - Acts and Sections used
           - Outcome of cases
           - Fate of the animals involved
      Following receipt and processing of your application form, you will be required to provide a full copy of all dockets and supporting documentation for all court cases that you have been involved with. This should be submitted directly to training1@nspca.co.za or couriered to the NSPCA head offices (see www.nspca.co.za or contact training1@nspca.co.za for physical address).
    • A letter of recommendation from your committee chairperson.
    • A copy of your unendorsed drivers licence.
    • A copy of your identity document (ID).
    • A one-page CV.
    • A copy of your Animal Welfare Assistant certification (AWA), if obtained.

  • You must have worked at your society/welfare organisation/within the SPCA movement for more than 6 months to qualify to enroll for the inspectors' and refreshers' training course.

  • You must have worked at a society/within the SPCA movement for more than 12 months to qualify to enroll for the field officers' training course.

  • You must have worked at a society/within the SPCA movement for more than 3 years to qualify to enroll for the senior inspectors' training course.
