The new Statue requires members to be classified into one of the following categories:
- Active Members are youth organizations and/or UNESCO Clubs, legally recognized by any relevant authority in the country where their head office is established, whose membership application, having met the requirements as stipulated in article 10, has been accepted, and have committed to respect this constitution.
- Supporting Members are youth organizations or individuals involved in various programs and activities to promote the culture of peace and non-violence in Africa, with interest in PAYNCOP thematic focus areas, whose membership application, having met the requirements as stipulated in article 10, has been accepted, and have committed to respect this constitution.
- Honorary Members are organizations or persons distinguished by services rendered or donations to the PAYNCOP, who have been offered membership or have applied for membership, having met the requirement as stipulated in article 10, has been accepted, and have committed to respect this constitution
To be accepted to the PAYNCOP as active member, any national network and/or youth organization must:
- have a purpose, objectives and/or activities related to the promotion of culture of peace and non-violence in Africa, and/or the thematic focus areas of PAYNCOP;
- made up of individuals aged 15 to 35 years maximum, with respect for cultural diversity, language and gender, and in the case of a single national network, be composed of at least five (5) youth organizations and / or UNESCO Clubs;
- commit to obey the constitution and the rules of procedure of PAYNCOP;
- Be recognized by any relevant authority in its country.
Active Member organizations of PAYNCOP are required to pay to the permanent Secretariat a one-off membership due of US$35 and an annual due of US$25.
However, by a decision of the general Assembly, dues can be made in the name of the national network to the permanent Secretariat, and can also be suspended for period under special circumstances.
Honorary members of PAYNCOP shall be exempted from paying membership and annual dues.
Supporting members may at their discretion pay an annual fee which is half the amount required for active members. However, the General Assembly reserves the right to establish an annual minimum contribution that will justify the Supporting Member Status.
