Welcome to the Survey on Academia in Astronomy and Space science in Africa.
The African Union Heads of States made the decision to realize an African Outer Space Programme as a flagship programme of the AU Agenda 2063. Pursuant to that decision the African Union Commission is conducting this Baseline Study on three Space Segments and the Space Socio-economic Benefits for the establishment and operationalization of the African Space Agency. The study aims at collecting first-hand data on these three segments of the Space Programme, namely, Earth Observation with a focus on academia; Satellite communications; Astronomy and Space Sciences along with an assessment of the Socio-economic Benefits of Space in Africa.
